Jarren's 10th birthday @ Tampines Safra on 6 August

Calvin the mage aka my hubby was already there 2 hours earlier when i rushed from East Coast Park to Safra. After assisting with some of the balloon sculptures request, hubby proceeded with the magic show to entertain the smart and curious 10 year olds and the adults at the party.

We love Jarren's cake. Angry birds! A beautifully-done birthday cake. Once the candles were blown, the characters were plucked out by the children within seconds. =p If you look in the picture when they are loaded up, you will notice that they really love these birds. Majority of the balloon sculptures were angry birds, most red or blue. =)

Face painting @ Mana Mana East Coast Park on 6 August

Windy venue... No sweat, under my clown dress, i had my denim shorts. =p The kids were playing at the beach when i arrived. My painting table was a beach bench. A real challenge painting the kids squatting down or bending over but i still did it! =D
Apart from the 2 boys who went for Spiderman face-paint, all the girls went for abstract face-paint and princesses. Glad to see that they like their paint so much so that they asked me for more.

Balloon busking @ 313 Somerset 22 - 24th July, 29 - 31st July

Busking at 313 Somerset had been fun and tiring at the same time. To me, it's a great way to market our services, show public that balloons can do wonders. Tiring cause' when hubby is away for shows, i'm alone to mend our area and it's always tough to go to the ladies or have my meal.
I'm thankful that during our short month there, I have made a friend. She's the one who help me to get my Gong Cha, the one who will ask me if i need any food whenever she's buying her meal. Thank you, Qiuyan!
31st July marks the last busking day of the month. SIP is taking a break in August and we will be back in September! Try not to miss us too much. =p

Balloon Twisting @ Pasir Laba Camp 11th June 2011 (Saturday)

Calvin supported a balloon sculpturing gig at Pasir Laba Camp. It was @ the Warrant Officer School building. The event was a family day for the current undertraining Warrant officers to be . Met a few familiar faces as I used to be from the airforce. Among the event was a badge making booth and Lester was entertaining the kids with stage games while I was doing balloon sculpturing. Lester does a Jester clown Balloon/magic show. Lester with his funny character did his role well to entertain and amused the crowds. I thought it was very comedy as well.

Dinner and Dance planning for Intervac 3rd June 2011 (Friday)

One-Stop No.1 Entertainment (ONE) planned the whole D&D for the company Intervac. Planning was done way early from booking of the venue @ Sheraton Towers. Annabelle did most of the coordination for this D&D. Many venue was offered to intervac and we managed to settled on Sheraton Towers.
ONE Team was there before the event for balloon decoration and venue preparation. The Stage is decorated with a Spider Backdrop with Intervac 20th Anniversary banner placed over it. The setup was done by the ONE Team. 2 classic balloon column add to the glamour of the stage. ONE sound system and sound guy Ramlan was there early for the setup as well.
Most of the Intervac personnel arrived early before 7pm. ONE instant photographer booth was setup in the room as he went around the cocktail area to take photos. Photos were instantly printed to a wallet size photograph and also uploaded to the computer immediate for live screening on the projection screen all thru the events.
The event is hand over to ONE emcee of the night Ling Ling our pretty and witty ONE gal.
Intervac personnel were shown with a montage video specially, arrange by Annabelle. The montage video with cartoon effect was well received by everyone especially the CEO and management team. Overall was a well done up video.
After the montage, a special CEO appearance segment was done by Calvin "The Mage" . It was the 2nd highlight of the night after the video montage.
The CEO Kelvin delivered his opening address. A special champage session was arranged and Ling Ling conducted our chinese way of Yam Seng in a very unique way which memerised a number of guys already. Dinner was served after and Ling Ling played the 1st game which had the crowd really enjoying themself and having fun.
The 3rd hightlight for the night is ONE belly dancer Jayne who really get the crowd going and electrifying the whole ballroom. She really can win the crowd with her style and with her experience mingling with the audience. She even taught belly dancing to some selected audience and she was definetely being remembered thru the night.
The 4th hightlight was ONE magician Kiki who does a full 30 mins solid structure magic show with high composure with a series of combination of juggling, comedy, fire eating fusioning with magic. All eyes were on him the whole 30mins filled with laughter.
Lingling had another game played after the magic show and she is really had the crowd going with her strong presence and good crowd handling.
The night ended with attractive lucky draw prizes all handed by ONE.
A great D&D had all the Intervac personnal saying it was the best D&D they had been to.
Hearing that really make the ONE Team feel a job well done .

Mother's Day Event @ The Sentosa (A Beaufort Hotel) 8th May 2011

Back to Sentosa for the 2nd time in a week. This time to do Balloon for the kids at The Sentosa (A Beaufort Hotel). It was a Mother's Day Event where the kids were having fun playing with the bouncing castle and cake making area while i make them balloons. All of the kids were gathered at the kids play room where some of them can play on Nintendo WII and some toys for the younger ones. The parents were at the restaurant area.
I thought i will be a simple and easy task for me for the next 2 1/2 hours as i didn't see many kids around. But as time goes by, more and more kids came in and I got no choice but to make simpler stuff after that. Had a fun time with them. What a Mother's Day event there.

NUS Staff Appreciation Lunch 10th May 2011

Time flies. I was invited back again after another year. It the annual NUS Staff appreciation lunch @ NUS University Hall. Feel so honoured and welcome as many of the staffs still remember i did for them balloons the last time round. I did balloon sculpturing for the adults (there no kids) and seem that i was the most popular guy out there (Most of them told me). Many ladies had a balloon each from me. All sort of designs were made upon request. Remember a guy asking for a Worker's Party Hammer (WP hammer is the logo for the opposition candidate for the election), nothing to be surprise of as Worker's Party won 6 seats to the Parliament and is the favourite opposition among Singaporean. He so proud of the hammer and showing it off to his colleague. Too bad i miss capturing a picture of it. Not very difficult just a 350Q and a 260Q does the work for me.
A lady requested something for her daughter birthday and i was working my mind off to use a HAPPY BIRTHDAY Print 260 to a design and this is what i came out with.
Had a fun 3 hours there twisting. Hope to come back again next year.

Balloon Scupturing at The Sentosa (A Beaufort Hotel) Mother Day Event 8th May 2011

Hmm 2nd time going back to Sentosa in a week. This time for a Mother's Day Event at The Sentosa (A Beaufort Hotel). There was a cute mascot welcoming the guest to the restaurant. While the parents were having the time at the restaurant, the kids are left to enjoy themself at the function room area with a bouncing castle and some cake making session.
I was doing balloons for the kids, thought it might be a easy 2 1/2 hour job but seems that more kids kept coming in and i was really kept busy by them. Didn't make very big complicated stuff as there are too many of them. The boys enjoying playing with their weapons and the girls are happy with some flowers and animals.
